Our COVID Response
Maestra is learning, along with the rest of the world, the impacts of Covid-19 on our industry. We are closely monitoring and following the best practices and recommendations of local guidelines and the recommendations made by The World Health Organisation for event organisers. Furthermore, we have worked closely with qualified Health and Safety Experts to implement our own robust Covid-19 Health and Safety Policy to ensure the safety of our teams, clients, suppliers and wider public.
The UAE Opens to Live Events
There is no doubt that the United Arab Emirates is leading the way in the secure re-opening of its Live Events Industry. In the past week Dubai hosted the Dubai Cycling Challenge, closing down Sheikh Zayed Road – the main artery through the city – for a mass participation event held under strict Covid-19 protocols. Dubai’s Coca-Cola Arena re-opened with a live show by British comedian Paul Chowdhry and US rock Bank KISS have announced a massive concert at Dubai’s Atlantis The Palm on New Year’s Eve. Maestra has been busy in producing and building projects across the Emirates all whilst adhering to strict Covid-19 regulations and guidance.
Event Guidelines
The Government of Dubai has issued the following set of guidelines to the organisers of live events, exhibitions, conferences and concerts in Dubai as part of plans to re-launch activities:
// A social gathering should not exceed 200 in a ballroom or 30 in a tent or temporary structure
// It should be ensured that space is big enough to maintain social distance of two metres at all times, and only five people or less should be seated on a table
// An event should not last more than four hours, and the venue should have proper ventilation
// Single use utensils and buffets should be avoided
// Surfaces and facilities must be constantly disinfected and sanitised
// Gifts should not be given to attendees
// You should not attend a social event if you have any respiratory symptoms or a fever
// If any symptoms arise guests should leave the event immediately
// Shaking hands should be avoided
// Elderly people and those with chronic diseases should avoid attending any events
